The foreign matter that envelops objects modeled after natural forms represents discomfort with the current established consumerist framework of society. Everyday items, which typically decay and vanish, are transformed into something inedible by using earth as a material. The boundary between the ordinary and the extraordinary becomes indistinct, with blurred and incomplete outlines. People continually seek to fill what is missing. The question is not whether these things are unnecessary, but rather how we perceive and interact with them.
