《すみれ》 は、1785年、ゲーテの詩にモーツァルトが作曲をした歌曲です。 歌詞の内容は「スミレの花が向こうから歩いてくる少女の姿を見つけて彼女に摘まれたいと望むが、その少女に踏み付けられてしまう。しかし、スミレは幸せだった。」というもの。 一輪のスミレが、ひとりの少女に抱く憧れと期待、叶わなかった想いを受け入れる姿が描かれていますが、この物語は、小さな平和の形を表していると言えるでしょう。 「こうなったらいいな」「こうであってほしい」という期待や願いは、必ずしも自分の思い通りにいかないものです。そのような現実に直面したときの心の持ちようで、その先の精神状態や相手との関係性は随分変わってくるものです。 ひとりひとりが相手を思いやり、自身の心を穏やかに保つことで、平和が世界に広がっていくことを願います。 子どもたちに、イメージとともにこの音楽を楽しんでもらえるよう制作しました。
"The Violet" is a song composed by Mozart in 1785. The lyrics are about a violet seeing a girl walk past and wishing that she would pluck me. Instead, the girl tramples it. But the violet is happy. The single violet's longing and expectation for a girl, and its acceptance of its wish remaining unfulfilled, represents a small form of peace. Expectations and hopes for "what would happen" and "what we wish would happen" never turn out the way we want. When faced with this reality, our mental state and relationship with the other part changes considerably depending on how we think about it. We hope each of us will be compassionate toward others and keep our hearts calm, so we can spread peace throughout the world. We created this music video, so children could enjoy music along with the illustrations.

Eri Sawae Soprano singer. Completed her Master's and Doctoral Studies at the Tokyo University of the Arts. Did her Ph.D. in research on songs of the United Kingdom. Majored in both Vocal Music and the Harpsichord from the Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. Saeko Mizumoto Designer. Did her graduate and postgraduate work in Intermedia Art, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. Currently a teaching and research assistant at the Performing Arts Center.
