私の実家のある広島の街を、キャンバスと色ペンを持って歩き、気になる風景があれば立ち止まり、線を引いて、また歩きました。その線を家に持ち帰り、絵の具でその線を盛り上げました。 外で絵を描いていると、年齢性別国籍を問わず、たくさんの人に話しかけられます。絵の話、昔の話、土地の話など、話題はいつも異なります。また、歩くこと、見ること、そして人と話すことで、広島という土地の持つ意味や、歴史的な背景を記号化せずに、目に映り人に聞いた現実として、捉えることに努めました。一枚は私の愛する道として、私の家から私の祖母の家までの道を描き、もう一枚は、美術と平和を直接的に意識した道として、広島市立現代美術館から原爆ドームまでの道を描きました。 またもう一枚の小さな絵は、私が夜に海辺で絵を描いているときに、たまたま釣りをしていた家族と仲良くなり、その子どもである新ちゃんと一緒に描いた作品です。
I walked through Hiroshima, where my parents live, with a canvas and colored pens, stopping if I saw any scenery that caught my attention. I drew lines and continued walking. I took those lines home and brought them to life with paint. While painting outside, I spoke with people of all ages, genders, and nationalities. The topics are always different, about painting, the past, the land, and so on. Walking, seeing, and talking amongst people, I tried to depict the essence of Hiroshima and its history as the reality I heard from people, rather than as a symbol. One painting depicts the road from my house to my grandmother's house as a path I love, and one depicts the road from the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial as a path commemorating art and peace. I did another small painting with Shin-chan, the child of a family I happened to be fishing with when I was painting by the sea at night.
野原 歩
NOHARA AYUMU
岡山県生まれ。幼い頃から田舎で昆虫採集や絵を描くなどして、自然の中で過ごしてきた。自然への興味から生物学、物理学を学びたいと思うようになり、北海道大学へ進学。コロナウイルス感染症の影響で大学が閉鎖。思うように勉学ができずに、休学。昔から好きだった絵を北海道の地でゆっくりと描き続け、勧められて受験した本校に入学。物理や生物とは一見異なる分野である美術にも、分析的なものの見方で、制作、鑑賞を行いたい。
Born in Okayama Prefecture. Since childhood, spent his time in nature collecting insects and drawing pictures in the countryside. Became interested in nature, which led him to study biology and physics at Hokkaido University. When the university closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he was unable to study as he wished, so he took a leave of absence. He continued to paint, which he had always loved, in Hokkaido, and gained admission to the school by taking the recommended entrance examination. He wants to create and appreciate art, a field so different from physics and biology, with an analytical perspective.
