極楽浄土

地元にいた頃、よく夜中に一人で海まで行き、夜の海を眺めていました。側から見たら、心配されそうですが、自分にとってそれは大切な時間だったのです。その海の海岸は、対岸の街の明かりが水面に反射してキラキラとしていましたが、この絵では光を放っている街は黒く消され、海と空の星だけが輝いているように描きました。 “ 極楽浄土”と言うのは、仏教の世界観の一つですが、そこからいきなりとったのではありません。同世代の歌手でVaundyと言う方の曲に極楽浄土という曲があったのです。 この絵ができた時に、絵を描きながらよく聞いていたこの曲のタイトルが浮かびました。 極楽というところがどういう場所か行ったことはないので分かりませんが、多分安らかなところでしょう。私は時には誰かのことを想って作品を作るべきだと思います。そのために、夜の煌めく海を極楽浄土にしようと願ったのです。
When I was in my hometown, I’d often head out to the coast on my own and stare at the nighttime sea. Any onlookers may have worried about me, but for me, it was a precious moment. The lights on the far shore glistened in the water. In this picture, the bright lights of the town have been blackened out, leaving only the sea and sky with the twinkling stars. Gokuraku Jōdo is a Japanese Buddhist term for paradise, but I did not take the name from Buddhism as such. The name was inspired by a song of that name by a singer for my generation known as Vaundy. I was listening to the song while painting the picture, and the song title came to mind after I had finished the painting. I have no idea what paradise is like, as I have never been there, but I suppose it is a place of tranquility. I sometimes feel that one should think of someone when producing a piece of art. In this case, I wanted to make that sparkling night seascape a paradise.

2002年兵庫県生まれ。兵庫県明石市出身、幼少期をソロモン諸島で過ごす。2021年兵庫県明石高等学校美術科卒業。2022年度より東京藝術大学美術学部絵画科油画専攻へ入学。 主な展示に、2023.3「グループ展」＠渋谷スクランブルスクエア 2023.8「解体絵画"Kaiga to Pants"」＠GUM表参道「Kaito miyamoto &Hikari komae展」
Born in 2002 in Hyogo Prefecture. A native of Hyogo Prefecture’s Akashi City, she spent her early years in the Solomon Islands. In 2021, she completed an art program at Akashi High School. In March 2023, she enrolled in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of Arts, majoring in oil painting. In March 2023, her work was exhibited at the group booth at Shibuya Scramble Square. In August of the same year, it was exhibited at the Kaito Miyamoto and Hikari Komae exhibition as part of the Kaiga and Pants exhibition at Gum Omotesando.
